Hustle for Hunger 2010

Hustle for Hunger returns to Assiniboine Park on Saturday, October 16th, 2010. Runners of all ages and all levels are invited to join us as we raise funds and awareness about food insecurity in Winnipeg.

Commitment to Nutrition

We are excited to announce that local registered dietician, Phyllis Reid-Jarvis, RD, CDE, will be working closely with our staff in setting nutritional targets for our services and addressing the diverse and complex dietary needs of our community. She will also be working directly with families in our pre-school program, food bank, and Grocery Cooperative. We are excited to have Phyllis on our team and look forward to working with her this summer.

Agape Table introduced John Kennett to our community in March 2010. As a certified Red Seal chef, he brings a wealth of food expertise to our meal and grocery programs. His thoughts on the the "simple tomato" can be found on our Facebook page.  (Under Construction, Coming Soon)

History

Founded in 1980 by a volunteer Board of Directors, Agape Table was established to serve free hot meals to people in the inner city. The need for this service has risen and today, 30 years later, Agape Table still serves a hot meal in the morning.

Guests of Agape Table are single parents, the working poor, expectant mothers, unemployed, children, seniors, people with disabilities, and other people without food.
