Volunteer Position: Busser

Reports to: Program Coordinator


The Busser position helps ensure all of our guests are eating in a healthy clean environment. The Busser is responsible for ensuring that all dishes are removed from the tables and wiping down tables before new guests are seated. Volunteering as a Busser is a great way to gain experience for future employment in the restaurant industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clear dishes from tables
  • Wipe down tables
  • Scrape all food off of plates into strainer
  • Take discarded food to the compost bin
  • Throw garbage into bins
  • Ensure cloths are stored in pail with water and sanitizer
  • Sweep and mop any large spills

Qualifications and Skills

  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • Good work ethic
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to follow directions well
  • Ability to work well with other volunteers
